SunGard, a provider of IT services, has purchased PredictiveMetrics, a provider of predictive scoring and analytical services. The purchase will allow SunGard to expand its AvantGard suite of receivables software to include statistical scoring services for financial institutions.
Visa will be acquiring PlaySpan, a provider online payments services, allowing Visa to strengthen its presence in digital and mobile commerce as it is able to utilize Monetization-as-a-Service, PlaySpan’s payments platform.
FIS, a provider of global banking and payments technology solutions, has purchased Gifts Software, a provider of funds transfer, cash management and anti-money laundering technology, allowing FIS to cater to the increased demand for cash management services among smaller financial institutions.

Australia’s CBA has extended the upgrade of its core banking technology by a year and increased its budget for the project to $1.1 billion, from an estimate of $580 million. The bank had signed a four-year deal with SAP in 2008 to modernize its core banking system.
FIS, a provider of global banking and payments technology solutions, has signed an agreement with China’s Bank of Hebei to provide the bank with its eCAS2 core banking solution which has been specifically tailored for Chinese banks.
