Corporate Developments

VeriFone Systems, a provider in electronic payment technology, has signed an agreement to acquire Point, a provider of payment and solutions for retailers, from Nordic Capital for about $600 million. The acquisition will allow Verifone to expand its presence in the Northern European retail payment sector.

Clear2Pay, a provider of payment solutions for the financial services industry, has acquired ISTS Worldwide, a provider of retail payments technology, allowing Clear2Pay access to ISTS’ expertise in card transactions and test automation.

Wincor Nixdorf has merged its retail banking and retailing units into a single unit with global responsibility with headquarters in Paderborn, Germany. This will make it easier for the company’s partners worldwide to access Wincor Nixdorf’s products support them.

Core Banking

Royal Bank of Scotland has selected SAP’s core banking solution to replace RBS’ legacy system, to help install a new deposits liquidity engine for its corporate banking operations.

Export Development Bank of Egypt has deployed Infosys’ Finacle core banking solution in its offices and branches across Egypt, to help support the bank’s retail banking operations and deliver enhanced customer satisfaction.

AutoSoft Dynamics, a provider of IT solutions for the financial services industry, has signed an agreement with Pakistan’s Sindh Bank to provide the bank with its AutoBANKER solution to help automat...
