Corporate Development

Dutch banks and telcos ABN Amro, ING Bank, Rabobank, KPN and Vodafone have abandoned plans to form a joint venture to bring NFC to the market in the Netherlands due to regulatory hurdles, but will continue their collaboration to find an alternative way to introduce NFC services.

PayPal has acquired card.io, a US-based start-up company that provides technology for developers to capture credit card information using smartphones’ cameras.

TCS BaNCS has teamed up with cloud infrastructure and IT solutions provider Savvis, enabling its suite of products to be offered on a cloud-enabled hosted environment in North America.

Uganda’s Housing Finance bank Limited has deployed Polaris’ IntellectTM Core Banking Solution to support its current and future business and IT requirements.

Addis International has selected Intrasoft Technologies’ CORE Banking Solution, with the implementation to provide the bank with centralised, online, real-time, and electronic banking solutions as per requirement by the National Bank of Ethiopia.

Crown Agents Bank has chosen SunGard’s Ambit core banking solution to replace its legacy system, helping modernise its architecture, boost operational efficiency and reduce costs.
